Boygenius: Supergroup with two concerts in Germany

The new rock supergroup is coming to Germany for two dates: Boygenius will be performing in Berlin and Cologne in August. For Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, The Record is the next step up from 2018’s self-titled EP, which marked the indie group’s debut release. When it was created, they placed great emphasis on the participation of women in production. The band name is also an allusion to the male domain of indie rock and the music industry in general. When they formed in 2018, Boygenius reacted to the artificially longed-for rivalry between them, as they were often compared to each other as “women of rock”.

Bridgers, Dacus and Baker achieved great fame in the indie scene through their solo projects even before their joint EP. With 2020’s Punisher by Bridgers, 2021’s Home Video by Dacus, and from the same year’s ‘Little Oblivions’ by Baker, they released their latest solo albums.
