Boygenius announce a break during their “final” concert

The indie band is reportedly taking a break of indefinite length.

On Thursday evening (February 1st), Boygenius are said to have announced a break during a concert in Los Angeles. According to reports from “Music-News.com,” a concert-goer on X live-tweeted the concert and stated in a post that the supergroup would say goodbye “for the foreseeable future.”

Boygenius announce their last concert

The trio, made up of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, played a “secret” concert to a small audience ahead of the Grammys. According to the X account @boygeniussource, Dacus announced that the performance would be her last, “and we feel it,” she added. Later, the indie rock band member announced their last song, which Julien commented with “not forever”. Boygenius have not yet commented on the alleged break.

The band are nominated for six Grammys this year, including Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album for THE RECORD. They are also nominated for Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for their track “Not Strong Enough.” The music award ceremony will take place on February 4th in Los Angeles.
