Olympique Marseille has announced the commitment of Facundo Medina. The 26-year-old Argentinian initially comes on a loan for a season from RC Lens. Afterwards, the professional can be firmly obliged by purchase option. Previously, “L’équipe” had written that the overall package for Medina – including bonuses – should be 22 million euros in this case. The rental fee is initially estimated at 2 million euros. The defensive man was already the focus of OM in winter, but remained the second half of the season in Lens. As part of a fixed obligation, he would receive a five -year contract.
Medina can demonstrate 147 games in Ligue 1 since his arrival 2020, in which he has six goals and eight templates for Lens. The left foot was seven times for the Argentine national team, since the end of 2024 it has been an integral part of the extended squad of the South Americans. Medina’s market value is estimated at 25 million euros, which is one of the most valuable central defenders in France’s Oberhaus. Olympique Marseille’s transfer editions will amount to EUR 34 million this summer, 28.4 million euros in income.
