Boy (4) died after accident with electric quad in Ostend | Instagram VTM NEWS

The child’s parents had rented an electric quad, intended for children, on Saturday afternoon. Their 4-year-old son was driving on the dike near the Rock Strangers artwork around 12.45 pm when he lost control of the steering wheel. His 34-year-old father wanted to intervene, but tripped and landed on top of his son.

The child’s condition immediately turned out to be very serious. It was immediately transferred to the AZ Damiaan in Ostend. Because the boy’s condition remained critical, he was transported to the University Hospital in Ghent later in the day. He underwent surgery there on Sunday. “With success,” the Bruges public prosecutor’s office reported at the time. Although it was added that the child’s condition remained critical. However, on Tuesday afternoon the news arrived that the German boy still died from his injuries.
