Three boys (15 and 16 years old) from the municipality of Oss have been given work sentences up to 80 hours and imprisonment for up to 26 days. The boys ran a 14-year-old boy in Oss last October. The juvenile court judge imposed the penalties this week.

They were fierce images of the abuse, the images went around very quickly on social media. They led to a lot of fuss. The three perpetrators were arrested more than two weeks after the violence explosion. The boys come from Megen (15) and Oss (15, 16). They not only receive work and prison sentences. They must also pay the victim a compensation of 250 euros.

The then 14-year-old boy who had to endure it that way, after the blows, remained dazed on the floor, possibly out of consciousness. It is not clear what exactly he has sustained. Nor is it known whether it has been completely recovered.

Pushed, kicked and beaten
It happened on October 6 at a skating track on Rusheuvelstraat in Oss. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the three boys were guilty of serious abuse together. The juvenile court could agree with this. The images spoke for themselves: the victim was pushed and then kicked, stuffed and beaten several times against his face, head, back and shoulders.

Apart from the work and prison sentences, the three are instructed to report to the youth rehabilitation. They are also obliged to cooperate in, for example, therapy, treatment and research. They will also have to be open to assistance, as long as probation finds it necessary.

The boy of fifteen from Oss was punished the most: he received 26 days of youth detention and a 60 -hour work sentence. A sixteen fellow townsman is locked up for eight days in a juvenile prison and was imposed an 80 -hour work sentence. For a 15-year-old boy from Megen, the juvenile court judge had two days in prison in store, but also a 25-hour learning sentence and a 40-hour work sentence.

Indignant reactions
The images of the fight were quickly shared on Snapchat and Facebook in no time. It led to indignation among residents of Oss. There were also people who said they were not surprised, because it was not the first time that there was meaningless violence in the city.

A man said he was shocked: “It goes beyond all the limits. As a father you still think: it will be your son.” A ten -year -old boy turned out to have witnessed the fight, he told Omroep Brabant: “I thought: this is not so nice, this hurts a lot. I quickly left.” He saw that another boy filmed the abuse. This boy has also been arrested, but is not tried as far as we know. He has received a warning. “Making such videos can have a sturdy effect,” the police explained last October. “The images themselves are an infringement of the privacy of the victim, especially if the videos are distributed via the internet.”

The fierce images showed how the young boys were raging:
