Agit Kabayel will probably have to be patient for a while until his dream of fighting for the heavyweight world championship will come true.
Big fights could still arise for the man from Bochum – at least when it comes to the WBC boss that throws the names Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua into the ring.
Agit Kabayel has been operating as interim world champion of the WBC association since his spectacular victory over China colossus Zhang Zhoei. Means: The 32-year-old is a compulsory challenger of heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk, who, in addition to the WBC crown, also holds the belts from WBA and WBO.
However, it is unlikely that Kabayel will be on the move. Usyk expressed the desire for a duel with IBF world champion Daniel Dubois to combine all titles again. His promoter Aexander Krassyuk confirmed the negotiations on the fight.

The WBC will not put stones in the way and insist on a battle of the Ukrainian against Kabayel, said WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman at “Sky Sports”. “We will judge what is happening, what is the best scenario. Kabayel has the interim title he can defend,” said the Mexican.
“There are other big fights like Joshua, Wilder or even Fury,” said Sulaiman possible opponents of the German. Joshua, for example, “is high in the ranking, he is a legendary champion, we will of course support him”.

The same applies to ex-champion Fury, who had lost twice against Usyk in 2024 and explained his career to end. “If he should change his opinion and try, I am sure that the medical examinations fit – the option is open,” said Sulaiman.
The Saudi Box-Mogul Turki al-Heikh had recently announced that they were talking to Fury about a possible comeback. However, it is about the mother of all Battle of Britain: the duel Fury vs. Joshua.
