The bottom team in the Italian Serie A, AC Monza, has parted ways with coach Alessandro Nesta. The 48-year-old took over the club in the summer and averaged 0.8 points in 20 games. The former national defender only managed one win with his team in the league; after the first half of the season, five points separated the team from a non-relegation zone.
In a club statement that was just two lines long, the club wished Nesta all the best for the future, but did not take any position on the details of the separation. Monza was Nesta’s first stop in the upper house; he had previously managed Frosinone, Perugia and Reggiana in a total of 143 Serie B games.
