The top second division game had to go without fan support for a long time and was then interrupted for a long time. In the end, the bottom team celebrated.

1. FC Magdburg celebrated an important victory in the 2nd Bundesliga and beat 1. FC Nürnberg 3-0 (0-0). After the game was interrupted for a long time in the second half due to thick pyrotechnic fog, Magdeburg found its way back into the game better. In the 73rd minute, Mateusz Zukowski gave the home team the lead. Just three minutes later, Nuremberg’s Rafael Lubach also saw a yellow-red card. In extra time due to the long interruption, Zukowski made it 2-0 with his second goal (90th + 3), Maximilian Breunig made the final score (90th + 10th).

Despite the win, Magdeburg remains at the bottom of the table, but with ten points it is at least temporarily level with Dynamo Dresden in 17th place. The Saxons will play against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Sunday. Nuremberg, led by coach Miroslav Klose, remains in ninth place in the table with 18 points and can still be overtaken by Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday.
