The two occupants of the plane that crashed at Nieuwlande this afternoon did not survive the crash. It is a 67-year-old man from Hoogeveen and a 56-year-old man from Drachten.
The plane crashed into a piece of land on the Brouwerswijk. The emergency services received the report of an accident with a small plane around 3 p.m., after which the police, ambulance, fire brigade and a trauma helicopter arrived.
The aviation police investigates the cause of the accident.
