Bosz is upset about rules surrounding Jong PSV: ‘The clubs are too scared!’

Peter Bosz was irritated on Friday afternoon when it came to the rules regarding Jong PSV. He finds it ridiculous that his experienced players are not allowed to play minutes in the Jong PSV team in the Kitchen Champion Division. The top clubs are diametrically opposed to the clubs from the Kitchen Champion Division. “Those clubs are too scared!”

Peter Bosz thinks it is “ridiculous” that his returning players are not allowed to play for Jong PSV. “It’s really unbelievable. The clubs from the Kitchen Champion Division only think in their own interests.”

The discussion sparks after the situation is outlined that long-term injured players such as Armando Obispo and Mauro Junior have been recovering for a long time. Peter Bosz would like to see them make minutes in the First Division at Jong PSV. But the rules changed a few years ago because the clubs from the Kitchen Champion Division considered it unfair competition. According to them, the selection would change too much.

“The clubs from the Kitchen Champion Division are far too afraid.”

“That’s such nonsense. I have no idea who is fit or not at PEC Zwolle (PSV’s opponent on Sunday). That can be different every week. Then it is ridiculous to say that it is less easy for them to prepare.”

The PSV coach is fierce in this discussion and is visibly irritated. “The clubs in the Kitchen Champion Division are far too afraid. Afraid of nothing. Isaac Babadi recently played for Jong PSV against Willem II. Willem II won that match 3-0. And historically, the young teams perform better without the experienced players. So what are we talking about.”

“We have to think much more in the interests of Dutch football.”

He thinks it is bad for Dutch football that, for example, Obispo and Mauro Junior cannot participate in the Kitchen Champion Division. “We have to think more in the interests of Dutch football instead of thinking about ourselves. Take a look at the clubs in the First Division. Half of the selection consists of players who have been trained at the top clubs. They also have an interest in the fact that they can make minutes at a lower level.”

Bosz looks for the cause in the meetings in professional football. “There all clubs have one vote. If they all think about themselves, such rules will be created.”

“It’s just ridiculous.”

Currently, only players born after January 1, 2002 are allowed to participate in Jong PSV in the Kitchen Champion Division. Shurandy Sambo, the reserve right back of the Eindhoven team, is one year older and is therefore not allowed to participate. “The only remaining practice matches for him, but then we also have to charge ten other players. It’s just ridiculous.”
