Boston Bruins beat Pittsburgh in outdoor classic

In the North American ice hockey professional league NHL, the Boston Bruins won the traditional “Winter Classic” against the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 (0-0, 0-1, 2-0).

Double goal scorer Jake DeBrusk (48th and 58th minutes) led the Bruins to their 19th home win in the open air. The guests took the lead in Fenway Park of the Boston Red Sox baseball team through Kasperi Kapanen (29th).

The “Winter Classic”, which is being held for the 14th time, traditionally heralds the new calendar year in the NHL. It was the 36th overall outdoor game in NHL history.
