Tim Kleindienst is currently in recovery training after an injury. Even without scoring, there is now positive news for him.

Borussia Mönchengladbach is sending a signal of continuity despite the sporting crisis: national player Tim Kleindienst has extended his contract early until 2029. The Bundesliga club announced this on Thursday. The injured attacker’s original contract ran until 2028.

“Tim quickly became a leader and national player in his first year with us and was also captain of this team this season,” explained sports director Rouven Schröder. They are very happy with his development – Kleindienst is a player who is making progress on the pitch. After his injury break, we are looking forward to his return.

The 30-year-old moved from 1. FC Heidenheim to Lower Rhine in the summer of 2024. In his debut season he scored 16 goals in 31 league games and prepared nine more goals. His debut for the national team followed in October in a 2-1 win in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kleindienst is currently out with a knee injury. “I really feel very comfortable at Borussia. It’s just a great club,” said the striker. He is also confident in the team. He wants to help lead the club back up.

Gladbach celebrated their first league win of the season with a 4-0 win in St. Pauli last weekend and are currently in 16th place in the table. The derby against 1. FC Köln awaits on Saturday. However, small service will still be missing.
