After it initially looked as if Jadon Sancho could actually wear the BVB jersey for a third time, the offensive player’s return to Borussia Dortmund recently became a long way off, according to media reports. A transfer insider goes even further and states that a comeback for the “prodigal son” is currently off the table.

Recently it was read in several media reports that Jadon Sancho would like to move back to the Bundesliga next summer after his unsuccessful loan from Manchester United to Aston Villa and would like to sign with Borussia Dortmund for a third time. According to “Sky” transfer journalist Patrick Berger, this probably won’t happen.

“At the moment the trail is cold, the deal is off,” the expert revealed in the “Auffe Süd” podcast, but immediately added: “If he is on the market until the end and things somehow fall into place, you can never rule it out, but at the moment I can’t imagine that Sancho will play for BVB for the third time in the summer.”

Signs are increasing: Probably no Sancho comeback at BVB

“Sport Bild” recently reported that there were increasing doubts in the Black and Yellow management team that Sancho would not be a real reinforcement for the team. In addition, BVB is still not sure whether the London native is actually on the market for a free transfer. His contract with Manchester United is expiring, but the Red Devils have an option to extend it.

Whether the Old Trafford club will do this in order to sell Sancho, who moved to the island from BVB almost five years ago for a whopping 85 million euros, for a fee is unlikely, but in the opinion of the Dortmund bosses it is not ruled out. This further slows down the efforts of the Bundesliga runners-up last season.

The “kicker” had also previously reported that there was currently “not so much” evidence of Sancho returning to the black and yellow team. Instead, the Englishman could move to Turkey. There was already interest in Sancho last summer and last winter, and Fenerbahce in particular was considered a candidate for a commitment.
