Borussia Dortmund is targeting Erling Haaland’s successor

BVB is preparing for the departure of striker Erling Haaland. The bosses of Borussia are already dealing with possible successors. And probably already have candidates in their sights.

Erling Haaland’s departure from Borussia Dortmund is getting closer. It is very likely that the Norwegian will make use of his exit clause in the summer and leave Westphalia. That means for the squad planners at BVB: A replacement is needed.

Sebastian Kehl and Co. are not idle. Because: Dortmund probably has two possible Haaland successors in its sights. This is reported by the “image”. As a result, second in the Bundesliga have chosen Adam Hlozek from Sparta Prague and Hugo Ekitike from Stade Reims as possible new strikers.

In the case of Ekitike, however, BVB should have a lot of competition. Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also said to be interested in the 19-year-old Frenchman. The 1.90 meter tall attacker scored ten times in 23 league games.

Reims President Jean-Pierre Caillot said on TV channel “Europe 1”: “It would be a waste of time if he stayed with us. In winter we rejected an offer of 35 million euros for him. For a club like us that’s a lot of money.” In doing so, the French also set the financial benchmark that anyone interested in Ekitike would have to pay at least.

Hlozek has been linked with a move to BVB in the past. He is also 19 years old and already a Czech international. Its market value is estimated at 19 million euros. Both players’ contracts run until 2024.
