The two met in London in 2022, when the German tennis player, now 57 years old, was facing serious legal problems, following which he was sentenced to two and a half years of prison for fraudulent bankruptcy. He took only eight months. Monteiro, originally from São Tomé and Príncipe, was born in Rome in 1990 and works as a political risk analyst. The couple, who now lives in Italy, married in September 2024 in Portofino and waits for the first child together.
