THEn wave at 9.30pm on first TV on Channel 5, Book Club – The Next Chapter it’s the sequel of the 2018 hit film Book Club – Anything can happen. Also in this chapter the the protagonists are four friends who have been meeting every month for forty years to comment on the reading of a book, but this time they are dealing with a very special hen party up and down Italy.

The occasion is Vivian’s hen party, ready to marry Arthur (Don Johnson) after having spent much of his life avoiding any ties that were too demanding.
What should be a relaxing holiday full of unforgettable moments though It soon turns into an adventure full of unexpected events. Between Rome, Venice and Tuscanythe four friends meet again at experience unpredictable situations that test their initial plansbut they further strengthen the bond that has united them for years.
In fact, during the trip, Diane begins to doubt her relationship with Mitchell (Andy García)While Sharon opens up to the possibility of living new experiences sentimental. Guaranteed fun despite the clichés
Book Club It is a comedy with a light and carefree tone which aims above all to offer relaxed and pleasant entertainment with a simple and accessible style which favors more relaxed moments and a travel atmosphere. Despite a certain predictability in the writingand the presence of elements already widely used in similar productions, Book Club – The Next Chapter manages to maintain its own identity.
Directed by Bill Holderman, the film sends a positive message linked to the importance of friendship, the desire to continue living new experiences and the possibility of facing every phase of life with enthusiasm. All positive elements that also make us forget the clichés about Italy scattered here and there in the narrative. The real show, however, is the quartet of formidable American actresses which alone are worth watching.

Four legends. We start with Jane Fondawinner of two Oscars and star of a career spanning over sixty yearswhich once again confirms his charisma and extraordinary elegance. At his side, Diane Keaton (who died last year) brings to the screen the usual irony and spontaneity that made her one of the most loved performers in Hollywoodconsecrated by films like Me and Annie And Anything can happen.
Candice Bergen, on the other hand, famous for the series Murphy Brown and for films like Carnal knowledge, gives a measured and refined performance, while Mary SteenburgenOscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1981, confirms his versatility and talent.
