The Telekom Baskets Bonn remain undefeated on the 5th match day and are the Bundesliga leaders.

The teams from rathiopharm Ulm and Niners Chemnitz, on the other hand, finally managed their first win of the season. MLP Academics Heidelberg defeated EWE Baskets Oldenburg in overtime.

Bonn won against BG Göttingen with 94:85 (48:35). Göttingen conceded its second defeat and currently holds the last playoff spot in eighth place. The best thrower from Bonn was Jeremy Morgan with 23 points. Norway’s Harald Frey (22) netted the most for Göttingen.

The top of the table made it clear from the start who was in charge and laid the foundation for victory in the first quarter. The guests could never catch up. In the second quarter, Bonn was already leading with 18 points. Göttingen was able to balance the two final quarters without threatening the baskets.

Ulm won against medi Bayreuth with 88:73 (42:48). The Swabians’ best thrower was pointguard Yago Mateus with 19 points. Ahmed Hill (13 points) scored the most for Bayreuth. While the first third was balanced, the visitors then took the initiative and led at half-time. In the third quarter, the hosts played more forcefully and turned the game around. In the final quarter, the guests had no more chances and also deservedly lost at altitude.

In the east derby, Chemnitz kept the upper hand against Syntainics MBC at 98:89 (46:49). Shyron Ely almost saved Heidelberg against the favored Oldenburgers with a 102:94 (84:84,26:40) win with the final whistle into extra time, in which the outsider then clearly prevailed against Lower Saxony.
