A scandalous incident occurred after the football match in Brazil.
Sport Recife and Fortaleza, two teams from South American countries, faced each other in the cup competition. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
It was reported that Sport Recife fans attacked the Fortaleza team bus after the fight.
6 FOOTBALL PLAYERS WERE INJURED
6 Fortaleza football players were injured in the bombed bus and were taken to hospital. Among the injured players are goalkeeper Joao Ricardo, left-back Gonzalo Escobar, right-back Dudu, defenders Titi and Britez and midfielder Lucas Sasha. The damage to the bus carrying the players in the attack was also clearly observed.
THE DECISION WAS MADE NOT TO ATTEND THE MATCHES
Fortaleza President Marcelo Paz shared the images of the moment of the attack on his social media account. Paz stated that they will not play the matches until the culprits are found and also included the images of his players in the hospital.
“ESCOBAR HAS 13 STITCHES”
In his statement after the incident, the club president said, “Joao Ricardo has six stitches in his head. Escobar has 13 stitches. I am in favor of Fortaleza not playing the match until the players recover and those responsible are punished. This was an attempted murder.” he said.
