MUNICH – It wasn’t surprising anymore, but it still had to happen. Femke Bol, 22 years old and already world famous in athletics, wrote history on the spot where the Dutch national football team became European champion in 1988. She is the first woman ever to win the 400m flat and 400m hurdles in a single international title tournament.
