Shock discovery on Sunday afternoon in Mitte. There a body was recovered from the Spree.

At around 4:30 p.m., the Berlin fire brigade was called to the Märkisches Ufer at the corner of Inselstrasse. One person was found in the water at the scene. She could only be rescued lifeless.

The body was handed over to the Berlin police on site, but nothing is currently known about the circumstances. The police are investigating.
