The Argentine coach had a guarded prognosis: his condition had worsened in the last few hours

Miguel Angel Russo didn’t make it. The Boca Juniors coach died at the age of 69: he had a very complex clinical picture, he was hospitalized with a reserved prognosis, constantly monitored by his medical team and the club’s medical staff. The news comes from the Argentine club itself: “Club Atlético Boca Juniors announces with profound sadness the passing of Miguel Angel Russo. Miguel leaves an indelible mark on our institution and will always be an example of joy, warmth and commitment. We accompany his family and his loved ones in this moment of pain. Goodbye, dear Miguel!”.

The team had dedicated their last 5-0 victory over Newell’s to him, led by his assistant, Claudio Ubeda, who after that success also spared a thought for Miguel in the press room: “We love him very much, we want him to get well soon and we wish him the best”. Unfortunately this was not the case.
