A triple victory for German women is bought in the two -man bob. At halftime, Laura Nolte is ahead of Kim Kalicki and Lisa Buckwitz – and the deficit of the competition before the crucial runs on Saturday (March 15th, 2025) is remarkable.
If the German trio does not allow itself in the third and fourth round and the currently outstanding form confirms, the final is only about who will win which medals. Nolte had already brought silver in the Monobob, said: “I’m totally happy.” Accordingly, she jumped with joy in the target area – and it could be that she will do it on Saturday.
US athlete Kaysha Love already 0.33 seconds behind Buckwitz
In both rounds, Nolte drove the best time, in the second run she conjured up on the first two thirds of the route, already developed a lead of 0.3 seconds to Kalicki – a mistake then broke up the field again, but the 26 -year -old was still 0.23 seconds before her teammate. Buckwitz has a gap of 0.43 seconds on Nolte, on Kalicki it is 0.2 seconds.
This is followed by a US trio – which, however, was completely chance against the German athletes and will probably also be until the end. Monobob Gold medalist Kaysha Love leads the Americans, but was a fourth but a total of 0.76 seconds slower than Nolte. In order to win a medal, she would have to make up for 0.33 seconds on Buckwitz, which was faster than she was in both runs.
German dominance before the competition
The German trio had already dominated in training on Wednesday. Buckwitz, Nolte and Kalicki contested two runs – and they drove to the three top lengths in this order. Kalicki won the third run, which many athletes missed. And it all indicates that the DSV athletes will not be beaten in the two-way bob on Saturday.
