“The LASK condemns these incidents to the hellest,” said his club, making it clear: “Racism has no place in our society, in sports and at LASK. We stand for diversity, respect and open cooperation – regardless of skin color, origin or religion.”
Boateng had been substituted in the final phase last Saturday (88th minute). After the final whistle, the team demonstratively decided against the walk to the travelers who traveled. With regard to this conscious waiver, the club said: “This reaction was a clear, closed and strong sign against racism and for cohesion within the team.” The association also emphasized: “We as a club are fully behind this decision.”
There was also a serious incident away from the professional team. In the game of the LASK amateurs against SC Weiz the day before, a viewer “said in a way that undoubtedly represents a glorification of National Socialist thoughts”. According to the association, the man in question belonged to the organized fan scene. A complaint was filed against him, and he should also receive a nationwide ban on stadium.
