De Blokker returns to Emmen and Assen. The chain, which went bankrupt at the end of last year, has placed vacancies for both places. According to the National Franchise guide, it is intended that a total of 37 stores throughout the Netherlands will be opened under the name Blokker New.
Roland Palmer is responsible for the comeback of the Blokker group. He is the cousin of former drivers Jaap and Ab Blokker. Palmer bought the brand name, the store concept and the webshop from the bankruptcy and has been an official director since January.
Blokker had nearly four hundred branches at the time of the bankruptcy at the end of last year, which closed on December 31 after a sale. About 45 franchise filares were not involved in the bankruptcy and remained open.
This also applies to part of the stores in Drenthe. This concerns the branches in Zuidwolde, Coevorden, Borger and Roden.
According to various professionals, the new Blokker stores are intended to open this summer.
