Blankenbergenaar is on trial for forwarding erotic photos of ex to her political party

The Public Prosecution Service states that the man and the victim had a brief sexual relationship. After several months, the woman began to hold back, much to the dismay of the defendant.

Threatening message

“Your political ambitions are over,” the Blankenbergenaar wrote in a threatening message. He then sent three sexually suggestive photos to the chairman and a board member of the local chapter of her political party. The civil party explained that her political career was deliberately thwarted by her ex-boyfriend.

The victim was advised by the party to step aside. In September last year, she filed a complaint against the defendant. At the hearing, the woman stated that he continued to harass her after that. The accused does not have to answer for harassment.

Protect political party

The defense shows that one of the photos was simply on the victim’s Instagram page. “She had sent those two other photos to him personally,” says master Peter De Becker. In addition, the defense stated that the man did not commit the offenses to harm her, but to protect the political party. “He didn’t think she was a good person to be in that party,” it sounded.

Initially, the Public Prosecution Service wanted to demand community service, but due to the medical condition of the accused, this is not possible. In those circumstances, prosecutor Eva Sioen demanded a strict punishment. However, the defense insisted on a suspension of sentence and referred to the blank criminal record of the Blankenbergenaar. The judge will rule on May 11.
