Black flags on facades in Bruges: “Damage from passing buses”

Due to road works in the area, even more De Lijn buses now run through the streets, up to more than 400 per day. The residents are fed up with it and, according to their own words, are not being heard by the city of Bruges.

“I once counted: you can take 21 buses from Jan van Eyckplein. We think a number of lines can be scrapped. With a little goodwill, they can be diverted via the ring instead of via the center,” says a local resident.

In addition, several houses in the Langerei, which is part of the protected cityscape, were already creaking and cracking due to passing scheduled buses.
