In terms of sport, Hertha BSC’s 3-0 win against Eintracht Braunschweig was looking up again after a completely botched start to the season. However, in the clear win against BTSV, a new signing was injured and has made a strong impression so far.

When Palkó Dárdai’s working day ended on Sunday, there were just 40 minutes on the scoreboard, Hertha BSC leading 1-0 against Eintracht Braunschweig. Even without the Hungarian international, the Old Lady won comfortably 3-0 in the end, but the 24-year-old son of coach Pál Dárdai will be missing for a longer period. The capital city confirmed this on Monday.

Palkó Dárdai suffered a ligament injury against Lower Saxony, “which now forces him to take a break until further notice. Training and games will take place without the midfielder,” says an official statement on “herthabsc.com”.

The Berlin native moved back to Berlin from the Hungarian first division club Fehérvár in July, where he played in the youth ranks until 2021 and played in the Bundesliga for the first time in April 2018. In 2023/24, the right winger has already played seven competitive games for Hertha, in which he scored two goals.

Four Dárdais at Hertha BSC

Since Palkó Dárdai was hired, three of the coach’s sons have been playing in Berlin. Márton Dárdai is at home in central defense, while Bence Dárdai, who is just 17 years old, has already played 115 competitive minutes this season.

“That’s my family history. My father played with my brother in Hungary. That’s normal for us. I also played with my brother shortly before I came to Germany. And now that we’ve been at Hertha for so long, “All children are Herthaners. Somehow fate would have it that way,” said coach Pál Dárdai, commenting on the unusual situation.
