Bingo in Belgium: corona cases at all Jupiler Pro League clubs | Football

Nevertheless, three cases have now been discovered at KV Mechelen. As a result, a total of 63 professional football players have tested positive for corona in recent days. That is one in eight of a total of more than five hundred football players.

It is striking that KV Mechelen now communicates that it is about corona cases. Because the club had already left for a winter internship on January 2, the Pro League received an exception to have the PRC tests only taken on Saturday for practical reasons. On Thursday it was still sounded that everyone had done self-tests and that they were all negative.

The Pro League had mandated those PCR tests to prevent players from picking up the virus on vacation and then spreading it in the team bubble on winter camp. In the meantime, all clubs are known to have at least one corona case.

KRC Genk and KV Oostende take the cake. There are seven cases, Club Brugge and Eupen also score high with six. Royal Antwerp, OH Leuven and Beerschot each have only one.

The competition will resume next Friday, January 14, with the 22nd match day. At the latest thirty hours before that, all players will be tested again.
