Paul Allen became rich as a co-founder of Microsoft. Years after his death, his last wish is now being implemented – a billion-dollar deal for charity.

The Super Bowl champion is for sale: Ten days after their triumph in the National Football League (NFL), the Seattle Seahawks announced that the franchise would go to a new owner. It is expected that a sum of seven to eight billion dollars will be raised for the title winner.

The club announced on Wednesday that the “sales process” had been initiated. The step fulfills Paul Allen’s wishes. Before his death in 2018, the Microsoft co-founder decided that the Seahawks would be sold and the entire amount raised would be donated to charity.

Even before Super Bowl LX (60) against the New England Patriots in Santa Clara, California (29:13), there had been reports of an impending sale, but the club denied it at the time. Now it comes to this.

Paul Allen took over the Seahawks in 1997 for $200 million. After his death, his sister Jody was appointed executor of the estate. In 2014, Seattle achieved its first Super Bowl victory, now its second.
