Today, the bill will abolish compensation for disabled people in internet consultation. The bill follows from the outline agreement in which it was agreed that the allowance for higher costs due to chronic illness or disability will expire as of 2027. By simultaneously reducing the deductible in healthcare, the government wants to simplify support for the chronically ill and the disabled.

Currently, someone who is entitled to a disability benefit on the basis of the Disability Insurance Act (WAO), the Work and Income Act to work capacity Act (WIA), the Disability Insurance Act (WAZ) and the Disability Provision for the young disability (WAJONG) Act (and in Case of the WAO and WAZ: which is at least 35% incapacity for work) the compensation of disabled people.

Chronically ill non-beneficiaries are not entitled to the allowance. According to the cabinet, that inequality is difficult to explain. By reducing the deductible for everyone, this inequality expires.
