Current market value: €70 million | Age: 20

This year, the German football upper house helped many talents to break through to the big stage or take the next step towards international class. The latter applies to the Bundesliga’s biggest market value winner, who will probably play for PSG next season: Xavi Simons (20) from RB Leipzig. The Dutch winger climbed from 18 million to a market value of 70 million euros in 2023.

Simons went from 18 million to 40 million in the PSV Eindhoven jersey before his former club Paris Saint-Germain drew a buyback clause of 4 million euros and then loaned him to RB. For the Saxons he was directly involved in 15 goals in 21 Bundesliga and Champions League games and is the most valuable player in the squad at €70 million.

The second biggest market value winner is also a summer transfer and plays for RB: Loïs Openda (23). The center forward started in Leipzig after his €38.5 million transfer and continued where he left off at RC Lens. The Belgian started the year with a market value of 12 million euros, which he increased to 35 million euros by the time he moved and climbed to 55 million euros at RB.

Market value winner Bundesliga: Boniface will increase by 900 percent in 2023

Bayer Leverkusen has the most players among the 25 biggest market value winners with eight professionals who have increased by between 13 million and 36 million euros in the past twelve months. The market value curve is steepest for newcomer Victor Boniface (22), who was upgraded from 4 million to 40 million euros in 2023. This 900 percent increase is due to the fact that the Nigerian is even more accurate in the Bundesliga than in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. Bayer signed the 1.90 meter tall attacker for 20.5 million euros and Boniface has repaid their trust with 23 goals in 22 games so far.

The trained left-back Alejandro Grimaldo has a similarly strong rate with 15 scorer points. After his free transfer from Benfica Lisbon to the Werkself, the Spaniard rose by 15 million to 35 million euros, equaling his career high from 2019. Grimaldo’s sometimes outstanding performances in coach Xabi Alonso’s team earned him his debut in the club at the age of 28 National team – making him the second oldest market value winner in our ranking for 2023.

At the age of 30, Bayern’s royal transfer Harry Kane achieved the feat of gaining another 20 million euros thanks to his move and the outstanding goal tally. With his new market value of 110 million euros, he is by far the most valuable over-30 footballer in the world and, together with Jamal Musiala, who is ten years his junior, the most valuable player in the Bundesliga. A duo that fans don’t have to worry about ending up at Man City, Real Madrid or PSG next season.
