The cyber attack happened at the external service provider of check-in and boarding systems, several European airports were hit by the attack on the same company. Brussels Airport’s own systems do not seem to be hit, so that passengers can check and board manually.

At Brussels Airport, according to a spokesperson, nine flights had already been canceled at 7 o’clock, a number of other has a delay. It is expected that the situation will not be resolved on Saturday morning, which will have a major impact on the flight schedule and will ensure more delays and cancellations of flights.

Passengers who have planned a flight on Saturday is advised to check the status of their flight before they come to the airport and only come to the airport if that flight is confirmed. Anyone who has a confirmed flight will be asked on time – two hours in advance for flights within the Schengen zone, to come to the airport three hours in advance for flights outside the Schengen zone.
