“My body became ice cold, my hand and leg were covered in blood.” Patricia (53) from Antwerp tells in a letter to the ‘Faroek’ investigation program how she was violently taken by a masked man in 1992 and raped in a forest on the Left Bank. Now, more than thirty years later, new DNA research may link her rapist to another rape and to the mysterious murder of Tania Van Kerkhoven, the 17-year-old woman who was found dead in a park in Berchem in 1993. The Antwerp public prosecutor’s office believes that it could be one and the same perpetrator: “He may still be dangerous.”
