Biathlon World Championships: Live ticker – 15km mass start

  • 5:05 p.m

    Bø wins the mass start

We will probably have to forego a finish sprint today because the runners in front are all alone. Bø high-fives the supervisors and rightly celebrates on the finish line!

  • 5:03 p.m

    Anything else possible for Nawrath?

Philipp Nawrath has Christiansen and Perrot ahead of him and will of course now try to get there again. Does this work?

  • 5:02 p.m

    Is a sensation brewing?

Andrejs Rastorgujevs is now 16 seconds behind Bø and is well on his way to winning his first World Championship medal! Sebastian Stalder is now running in seventh place, but won’t make it much further ahead.

  • 5:01 p.m

    Fourth shooting pursuit group

  • 5:00 p.m

    Strelow and Stalder remain error-free

Nawrath and Kühn also have to take a turn. Justus Strelow and Sebastian Stalder can once again be happy about a flawless shooting performance.

  • 16:59

    Fourth shooting

And so the field is approaching the decisive shooting, which will probably be decisive here.
Johannes Thingnes Bø leaves no questions unanswered and conjures up an amazing series. But Rastorgujevs does the same!
Tarjei Bø has to go into the round and Benni Doll misses all chances with two mistakes!

  • 16:59

Fourth shooting – JT Boe confidently

  • 16:57

    Anything else for Rastorgujevs?

Johannes Bø sets a blistering pace at the front and significantly increases the gap between him and his pursuers. Of course he doesn’t want to let anything burn here anymore. But Rastorgujevs doesn’t let up and remains in second position, relatively just behind the Norwegian.

  • 16:55

    Eder and Hartweg way back

Simon Eder and Niklas Hartweg are currently at the back of the field and have no chance of improving significantly due to too many mistakes. A pity!

  • 16:54

Third shooting rest of the field

  • 16:54

    Change of leadership

And so quickly the younger of the Bø brothers takes the lead. Benni Doll is now 27 seconds behind the Norwegian. But nothing is lost yet. Justus Strelow fought his way a little further forward.

  • 16:53

    Third shooting

If you want to continue to be involved here, you have to hit all the targets. That is clear.
Johannes Thingnes Bø is the only one of the leading quartet to get through without making any mistakes. Sebastian Stalder does a lot of things well without mistakes. Justus Strelow also stays clean and can go back into the round together with Kühn and Nawrath.

  • 16:52

    Third shooting lead group

  • 4:50 p.m

    Stalder also did well

Sebastian Stalder is also doing well and is heading towards the stadium in seventh position. However, the distance to the front is a bit too big to solve this by running. But we have the shooting range.

  • 16:49

    Doll runs strong

The skis seem to fit, because Benni Doll can keep up well with the rapid pace at the front and even takes the lead at times.

  • 16:47

Johannes Thingnes Bø is catching up

Johannes Thingnes Bø is making up space after space and is already catching up with his brother. Doll is still just behind Fillon Maillet.

  • 16:46

    Komatz clean

David Komatz keeps his clean slate and returns to the track in twelfth position. Niklas Hartweg already has four penalties in his legs and is far behind.

  • 4:45 p.m

Second shooting – rest of the field

  • 4:45 p.m

    Second shooting – leading group

  • 4:45 p.m

    Second shooting

And then it’s back to the shooting range. Doll again makes no mistakes and returns to the track with the leading group. Sebastian Stalder does the same, while Nawrath, Strelow and Kühn have to take a turn.

  • 16:42

    Quartet in the lead

And so the quartet of Fillon Maillet, Bø, Doll and Rastorgujevs runs through the Czech forest and into the stadium with a lead of almost ten seconds.

  • 16:41

    Strelow lets something rip off

Of course, Justus Strelow can’t keep up with the front runners and falls back a little. But that doesn’t matter at first.

  • 4:40 p.m

    Norway with penalties

After the first shooting, Quentin Fillon Maillet is now leading because, with the exception of Tarjei Bø, all Norwegians had to turn into the penalty loop. Strelow and Doll are just behind the two, Sebastian Stalder is in sixth place.

  • 16:38

    First shooting

  • 16:38

    First shooting

The field is back in the stadium and faces the shooting range for the first time.
Bendedikt Doll gets through without making any mistakes and quickly returns to the round. Justus Strelow can also get back on the track straight away. For Johannes Kühn and Philipp Nawrath there is one penalty loop. Simon Eder and David Komatz remain error-free, as does Sebastian Stalder.

  • 16:34

    First group dropped

And the first group has already run away a bit. Five athletes from Norway, Sweden and France set out to be the first to reach the shooting range.

  • 16:32

    Good start

The field started the first lap without any major hiccups, broken poles or falls and is of course still close together.

  • 16:31

    The start – let’s go

  • 4:30 p.m

    Here we go

The last start of the World Championship has happened and off we go on the 15 kilometers!

  • 4:25 p.m

    The favorites

The first four starting numbers belong to the Norwegians. And they are the ones who are going into the race as big favorites. No matter whether Laegreid, the Bøs or Christiansen, everyone has what it takes to be a world champion. We are definitely very excited to see whether the Norwegians will also grant other nations a place on the podium.

  • 16:18

    Switzerland also has two starters

The Swiss are also there with two starters. Sebastian Stalder (12) and Niklas Hartweg (19) should fix it. Hartweg was particularly convincing in the individual, when he only made a mistake in the last shooting and finished eleventh. If he can continue that today, we can look forward to a good race from him.

  • 16:13

    Austria twice

The Austrians are at the start with a significantly smaller squad. David Komatz (29) and Simon Eder (30) fought for permission to start today’s race. Both have the opportunity to place well with four clean shooting performances. If everything fits, the top 20 could be there.

  • 4:05 p.m

    The German prospects

The German line-up for the last dance in Nove Mesto is large. Four athletes qualified for the mass start. Theoretically, Benedikt Doll (5), Johannes Kühn (7) and Philipp Nawrath (9) have a chance of winning a medal. In practice, the Norwegians are so dominant, especially in the mass start, that it will be really difficult even with a sparkling clean performance.
Justus Strelow completes the team with start number ten.

  • Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the men’s mass start World Cup decision! The live ticker begins in good time before the start of the competition.
