The French biathlete Camille Bened had to go under the knife in early April to have an injury to the Schuler treated. In the meantime, she can complete parts of the training again, but still has to act carefully.

Biathlon talent Camille Bened has resumed training around two and a half months after her operation on the shoulder. With the French Équipe, the 24-year-old most recently worked in Prémanon, albeit with an adapted program.

Bened is still in the “initial phase”, she told Nordic Magazine. Above all, the focus is currently on strength and endurance training.

In the meantime, the Frenchwoman can also drive on roller skis, but without sticks. And: “I got permission to shoot again, which is nice. So I slowly take up all activities again, but continue to adapt until I got green light from the surgeon.” At the beginning of July, further X -rays of the shoulder are to be taken to see whether the injury has healed completely.

Biathlete makes jump into the World Cup

Bened had announced in early April that she had a long overdue intervention on her left shoulder carried out. The reason for the operation on her shoulder was a fall in November 2023.

The shoulder should be finally “stabilized” by the intervention, the ski hunter said at the time: “This decision that I made together with the coaches and the medical staff marks a new section in my career, but it should also make it possible for me.”

The French woman made the leap from the first to the second biathlon league in the 2024/25 season. She was allowed to make her debut in the World Cup on Osloer Holmenkollen, where she was able to take three successful appearances. In the sprint she was 13th, in the pursuer 15th, in the mass start she ended up in 16th place.

In the IBU Cup 2024/25 she was able to drive in ten podium places, she confidently won the overall ranking in front of her country women Voldiya Galmace Paulin and Paula. At the European Championship in Martell, she won the silver medal with her season.
