Biathlon star Dorothea Wierer wants to get into “perfect mode”.

The new biathlon season is fast approaching. At the end of November it starts again in Östersund, Sweden. Dorothea Wierer is already looking forward to the start.

“I just hope that when we go north for training we will find perfect conditions, but I’m afraid that will be difficult,” Wierer told fondo italia. The Italian biathlon team is heading to Scandinavia at the beginning of November to prepare for the first World Cup stop in Östersund (November 25th to December 3rd).

“When we go north, I definitely get into the perfect mode where I’m aware that the season is starting and I’m just concentrating on being an athlete with no other commitments,” Wierer said Start of the season preparation ahead.

The 33-year-old finished the last biathlon season in second place in the overall World Cup. Only the Frenchwoman Julia Simon ended up 182 points ahead of the native South Tyrolean in the final score. At the World Championships in Oberhof, Wierer also won the gold medal in the relay and the silver medal in the mixed relay.

Biathlon: Autobiography? Wierer has “neither desire nor time”

The two-time biathlon overall World Cup winner wants to be at the forefront next winter too. Ending his career is just as out of the question for Wierer as is an autobiography.

“I have already received a lot of inquiries, but at the moment I have neither the desire nor the time,” said Wierer regarding his own book: “Then I don’t know if it would be the right thing for me, because if I had to tell everything that happened and what I think it wouldn’t always be positive because it would affect other people too.”

This means: The Italian continues to focus entirely on the sport of biathlon.
