1st shooting D. Wierer (ITA) & 2nd shooting L. Vitozzi (ITA)
3:09 p.m
Vittozzi is a great shooter
But what Lisa Vittozzi then does while standing is magnificent. Once again the Italian fires quickly and accurately. However, the cushion for the final lap on Lou Jeanmonnot is only one second.
3:08 p.m
1st shooting M. Kirkeeide (NOR) & 2nd shooting K. Knotten (NOR)
3:08 p.m
Wierer big in business
Then we also have Dorothea Wierer. The South Tyrolean is a fast shooter, hits everything lying down and is also among the very best.
3:07 p.m
1. Shooting S. Minkkinen (FIN) & A. Magnusson (SWE)
3:07 p.m
Meet favorites lying down
Vanessa Voigt missed a target while lying down. Now it’s Suvi Minkkinen’s turn. The Finn doesn’t show any weakness and shoots her way to the front in second place. A little later, Maren Kirkeeide is also called upon and also wins (seventh).
3:06 p.m
1st shooting V. Voigt (GER) & 2nd shooting L. Jeanmonnot (FRA)
3:05 p.m
Jeanmonnot aims for the podium

1. Shooting J. Braisaz-Bouchet (FRA) & finish J. Tannheimer (GER)

14:59
Finish S. Grotian & 2nd shooting J. Tannheimer (GER)
14:59

Now the woman in yellow and red shoots for the first time. Lou Jeanmonnot shows no weakness, eliminates all targets and takes the lead.
14:58
Finish S. Grotian & 2nd shooting J. Tannheimer (GER)
14:58
Penalty lap for Tannheimer
Julia Tannheimer left one goal untouched while standing and finished sixth in the timing, half a minute behind.
14:57
Grotian leads at the finish
Meanwhile, Selian Grotian storms to the finish and beats Lea Meier’s best time. Now the 21-year-old has to wait to see how many competitors will pass her and whether it will at least be enough for the top 15.
14:56
2. Shooting J. Hettich-Walz (GER) & F. Preuss (GER)
2:55 p.m
Preuss shoots perfectly
Franziska Preuß does it much better afterwards. This is standing shooting like in the best of days. All discs fall. With ten goals, Preuß has a chance of podium today and takes the lead.
2:55 p.m
1st shooting S. Schneider (GER) & 2nd shooting A. Heijdenberg (SWE)
14:54
Hettich-Walz makes a mistake
Janina Hettich-Walz throws away her race in the standing position. Two targets remain black, which means penalty laps. This sets the 29-year-old back significantly.
14:53
Tannheimer lying down flawlessly
Julia Tannheimer didn’t expose herself lying down. On the other hand, Sophia Schneider has one window left standing.
14:52
Penalty lap for Gandler
Anna Gandler makes her first mistake while standing. In doing so, the Tyrolean misses the chance to hit the big time. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old will start the final lap in second place.
14:51
2nd shooting S. Grotian (GER) & 1st shooting J. Tannheimer (GER) & finish L. Meier (SUI)
14:51
First finish
Lea Maier is already reaching her goal. Your best time there is likely to last for quite some time.
2:50 p.m
Grotian hits and catches up
Selina Grotian is shooting for the second time. Given the Olympic standard, this should work now. And the 21-year-old withstands the pressure, cleans up and goes into the final lap in second place – almost ten seconds behind Lea Meier.
2:49 p.m
1. Shooting F. Preuss (GER)
2:49 p.m
Preuss in the lead
Franziska Preuß does the same as her teammate. This is also impeccably fast and safe shooting. And last season’s overall World Cup winner is faster, setting the new best time just ahead of Anna Gandler.

1. Shooting A. Heijdenberg (SWE) & J. Hettich-Walz (GER)
2:47 p.m

2:46 p.m
Meier stays ahead

Second shooting
Meanwhile, Lea Meier is already doing the standing shooting. The Swiss also works flawlessly, scoring ten goals today.
2:44 p.m
1. Shooting A. Lampič (SLO) & S. Grotian (GER)
2:43 p.m
Penalty lap for Grotian
After the error-free shooting at the beginning, all of the athletes are currently making mistakes. Selina Grotian’s second shot didn’t hit the target, which gave her a penalty loop. In terms of timing, the Germans are 22 seconds short of the lead.
14:41
Preuss sets off
But the problem of the former cross-country skier becomes apparent when shooting prone. Lampič misses three targets and falls far behind. Franziska Preuß starts parallel to the Slovenian’s shooting.
2:40 p.m
Lampič is unsurprisingly quick on the move
As expected, Anamarija Lampič demonstrated her running qualities on the course and set clear interim best times.
2:39 p.m
1. Shooting L. Meier (SUI) & S. Kuelm (EST)
2:38 p.m
Külm shoots faster
Susann Külm is equally unerring. The Estonian, however, pulled the trigger much more quickly. When it comes to timing, this pays off with a lead of 15 seconds. The athletes continued to hit everything – until Hannah Auchentaller from Italy made her first missed shot of the day.
2:37 p.m
First shooting
Now the first starter arrives at the shooting range. Lea Meier goes prone and fires calmly and confidently. None of the discs oppose her.
2:37 p.m
Start Selina Grotian (GER)
2:36 p.m
Grotian starts
Now Selina Grotian sets off – half a minute after Slovenia’s Anamarija Lampič. For the 21-year-old German, it’s still about the Olympic standard. At DSV we’re talking about top 8 once or top 15 twice.
2:33 p.m
First intermediate times
Gradually the first interim times arrive. It appears that Lea Meier approached the race well. The Swiss woman’s benchmarks initially withstood attacks from the competition – until Susann Külm from Estonia was half a second faster at kilometer 1.2.
2:32 p.m
Conditions
Blue skies and sunshine make for wonderful weather. However, the sun no longer reaches the bottom of the Miesenbacher Valley, so the athletes will move completely in the shade.
2:30 p.m
Start of the race
2:30 p.m
start
At this moment Lea Meier opens the women’s sprint in Ruhpolding. It will take almost an hour until all 105 athletes are sent onto the track, each half a minute apart.
14:26
favorites
In the four sprints so far this winter we have had four different winners. We should also have the Finnish Suvi Minkkinen, the French Lou Jeanmonnot, leader in the discipline and overall World Cup, as well as the Swedish sisters Hanna and Elvira Öberg on the bill today. Norwegian hopes rest on Maren Kirkeeide. Julia Simon from France has shown improvement recently – and Franziska Preuß should not be forgotten.
14:21
Six Swiss women
Lea Meier, a Swiss woman, is allowed to open today’s race. Then it will take a good 20 minutes until Amy Baserga, the next confederate and fifth in the sprint from Hochfilzen, is at the start. As things progress, it’s time for Lena Häcki-Groß, the best Swiss biathlete in the recent past, to find her way. The Engelberg woman’s best result of the season so far is 32nd place in the Hochfilzen sprint. Later we have Aita, the last remaining of the Gasparin sisters, Coralie Langel and Lydia Mettler.
14:13
Five Austrians
We are expecting the Tyrolean Anna Gandler to be the first from the ÖSV ranks. The best red-white-red ski hunter is still Lisa Theresa Hauser, who came fourth in the sprint to beat her pursuer in Östersund. Anna Juppe, Anna Andexer and Lara Wagner can also be found on the start list.
2:04 p.m
German sextet
The first of the six German starters is number 12 Selina Grotian, who will set off at 2:36 p.m. She is followed by Janina Hettich-Walz, sixth in the sprint from Oberhof. Franziska Preuß recently showed clearly improving form with three top 6 results in a row, excluding the relay faux pas the day before yesterday. Julia Tannheimer (sprint eight from Östersund), Sophia Schneider (season debut in the World Cup) and Vanessa Voigt (currently the best German in the overall World Cup) are also looking forward to today’s competition.
1:55 p.m
Daily task
A 2,560 meter long lap awaits the athletes, which has to be completed three times. After the first round, the shooting is done lying down, after the second, standing. Every missed shot must be penalized in the penalty loop. 105 female athletes want to take on this task.
1:45 p.m
