Para-biathlete Linn Kazmaier continues to collect gold medals at the World Championships in Prince George, Canada. After her victories in the sprint and individual on Saturday (09.03.2024), the 17-year-old Paralympic champion was also unbeatable in the pursuit sprint in the visually impaired class with guide Florian Baumann.

Leonie Walter with accompanying runner Christian Krasman and Johanna Recktenwald with Pirmin Schlitzer completed the podium. As in the individual, Kazmaier did not miss a shot.

At the age of 15, the student won gold in cross-country skiing at the Winter Games in Beijing and has now secured her seventh World Championship gold. She won three of them last year in cross-country skiing. Her teammate Walter, who triumphed in biathlon in China, won silver for the third time in Canada.

Wicker operates reparation

Anja Wicker ran to the silver medal in the women’s sitting class behind the American Kendall Gretsch. This time the 32-year-old from Stuttgart remained as focused as usual at the shooting range. After her eight penalty minutes in the individual, Wicker didn’t make a single mistake. The Paralympic champion in Sochi had already taken second place in the sprint. Andrea Eskau came fifth.

In the standing class, Marco Maier came sixth with four shooting errors. Veteran Alexander Ehler finished ninth behind the 2022 Para-Athlete of the Year, who was weakened by a cold. Among the visually impaired men, Nico Messinger with guide Robin Wunderle and Lennart Volkert with Nils Kolb took seventh and tenth place. The team sprint is scheduled to conclude the title fights on Sunday.
