Biathlon live ticker: Oslo 15km individual in the live ticker

Häcki-Big in red

As the leader in the discipline World Cup, Lena Häcki-Groß (start number 1) is of course hoping for the ball. But with only three individual competitions per season, the gaps are very small. A lot of athletes can still have their hopes up. Another Swiss woman does not belong to this group. At least Amy Baserga (8) has already made it into the top 10 this winter. The other Swiss women were generally disappointing. So not much is expected from Aita (42) and Elisa Gasparin (64) as well as Lea Meier (72).

Start numbers of the Austrians

We also introduced the five Austrian winter athletes yesterday. Equipped with new start numbers, Lisa Theresa Hauser (3), Anna Gandler (14), Anna Juppe (41), Lea Rothschopf (50) and Tamara Steiner (84) start the competition.

New German starting numbers

Of course, nothing has changed since yesterday in terms of the tasks that the athletes have to complete over the long 15 kilometers at Holmenkollen. Franziska Preuß is still not there for the reasons mentioned. However, the starting list has changed. That’s why we’re mentioning the new starting positions of the DSV ski hunters at this point: Sophia Schneider (2), Janina Hettich-Walz (11), Vanessa Voigt (19), Selina Grotian (38) and Johanna Puff (70).

Welcome

Welcome back to the Biathlon World Cup in Oslo! After we made a vain attempt to hold the women’s individual race as scheduled yesterday, but were stopped by the fog, we are now making a second attempt.

See you Friday at 12:30 p.m.!

There are now exact start times. The organizers had to reschedule Friday a bit with the now two individuals. The women start at 12:30 p.m., the men follow at 3:30 p.m. Until then!

Friday new attempt

The race should not be canceled entirely. We’ll start another attempt tomorrow, Friday, and the weather forecast will be better then. Apparently there is no exact date for the women yet. In any case, the 15s should take place before the men’s singles – so probably start in the midday hours. In any case, we will of course be there live again.

Cancellation for Thursday

Due to heavy fog there will be no competition in Oslo today. After the shooting, the jury came to the conclusion that equal conditions cannot be created for all athletes. By the way, the rain on Holmenkollen is not a problem, the route would be ready.

Five Austrians

There are no Austrian women in the top 30 of the overall World Cup. Lisa Theresa Hauser is still the best at 32. The Tyrolean started the season with a sixth place. Things didn’t get any better as a result. Furthermore, a place in the top 15 would be remarkable – for Anna Gandler, Tamara Steiner and Anna Juppe. Lea Rothschopf makes her World Cup debut.

German quintet

However, in third place Vanessa Voigt is one point better than Preuß, so Crystal is still possible for Germany. Of course, we are also excited about Vice World Champion Janina Hettich-Walz. The first German starter is Sophia Schneider, who achieved her best result of the season in fifth place in the individual in Östersund at the beginning of the winter. We are also expecting Selina Grotian and Johanna Puff.

Preuss is missing

Franziska Preuß will not start today. The 29-year-old has been struggling with infection symptoms since the World Cup and is therefore taking a break. However, this also means that the chance of winning the small crystal ball is lost. Given that she was only eight points behind, the Bavarian had excellent prospects for the Discipline World Cup, which will be decided by this competition.

Oslo

Holmenkollen in Oslo is essentially the cradle of Nordic skiing. And so it is something very special for the biathletes to be able to compete here. The women have a total distance of 15,158 meters, spread over five laps. After each one you have to solve a shooting task. Shooting always takes place alternately lying down, standing, lying down, standing. Each missed shot means a penalty minute.

World Cup

After the World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě, everyday life in biathlon returns. There are now three more World Cup stations to follow. And before the season ends in North America, the ski hunters will appear on European soil for the last time this week – at a traditional site.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the Oslo Women’s 15km Individual! The live ticker begins in time before the start of the ski hunters’ race.
