What started in 1975 as a small shop in Ringkøbing, Denmark, is now a global company with more than 24,000 employees and over 2,800 branches worldwide. This anniversary is celebrated together with employees, customers and long -time partners – the people who have shaped and developed bestsellers over the years.
Bestseller was founded in 1975 by Merete Bech Povlsen and Troels Holch Povlsen. With the opening of their first business in Denmark, they laid the foundation for a success story that the company still shapes today. In 1980 a business was taken over in Aarhus that brought today’s name Bestseller – a name that has now become an integral part of the international fashion industry.
But bestsellers stand not only for economic success, but also for a corporate culture that is based on closeness, trust and cohesion. The 50th anniversary is an opportunity to look back on the development of the past decades and at the same time to shape the future together with those who have shaped the company.
