The images that emerged at the “Women in Sports” event in the garden of the British Consulate General, where Consul General Kenan Poleo kicked off, captured hearts. Messages of friendship were given at the event where the 13-15 age group women’s football teams of arch-rivals and eternal friends Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray trained together.
The training within the scope of the event held with the slogan “Women in Sports” was carried out by 13-15 year old women’s football team coaches Serkan Güzeler, women’s football academy manager from Besiktas, Fenerbahçe infrastructure manager Yusuf Çelik, Galatasaray coach infrastructure team manager Taner Taşdemir and Manchester United Foundation’s Women’s Football Department. They were co-managed by Development Director Stephanie Knott.

After making the kick that started the training, Consul General of the United Kingdom Kenan Poleo conveyed his feelings and thoughts about the organization to our cameras. Poleo said, “I am very happy to host such an event. It is very pleasing and important for us to support young women’s relationship with football here in our consulate garden. Women’s football will start to be as popular as men’s football. In this sense, supports and organizations have also increased.

Poleo continued his words by drawing attention to the similarity between the two countries: The United Kingdom and Turkey are countries that love sports and football very much.
