With a suitcase worth 1,000 euros, Bertha from Ubbena won an amount of 488,000 euros in the TV program Miljoenenjacht.
In the TV show with Linda de Mol, the finalist has to open suitcases with different values, from 1 euro cent up to 5 million euros. The more low amounts that go out, the higher the amount for which the own suitcase can be sold. Bertha had luck on her side and kept the millions in the game.
She dared to reject amounts of 199,000 and 314,000 euros. “Gamble again? Yes we do,” she immediately answered her own question on the show. She accepted an offer of 488,000 euros. Had the player from Ubbena played through to the end, she would have won ‘only’ 1,000 euros, the amount that was in her suitcase.
With the amount Bertha wants to buy a new kitchen and camper. “Isn’t this great?! Also, with this amount my daughter’s student debt can be paid off and I can work one day less.”
