Bernie Ecclestone: tax fraud charge to court

Former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone91, faces trial.

According to the news agency AP Ecclestone is accused of tax fraud. According to the prosecutor, he failed to declare more than 400 million euros of his assets abroad.

Ecclestone denies the charge.

Prosecutors allege the former F1 boss misrepresented his wealth between July 2013 and October 2016. During that period, the British tax authorities were conducting an international investigation into Ecclestone’s assets.

According to the indictment, Ecclestone did not disclose his fund in Singapore, even when asked if he had funds abroad. The F1 giant had around 650 million euros in the Singapore fund.

Ecclestone led the F1 series for no less than four decades. He served as the boss of the royal class from 1970 to 2017.

Ecclestone has also been in trouble with the law earlier this year. A man was arrested in May in Brazil when he tried to put a gun on an airplane.
