Top performance from St. Pauli, Union Berlin and Holstein Kiel – The 32nd Bundesliga matchday has flushed players in the spotlight who were hardly expected there.
Tor – Nikola Vasilj (FC St. Pauli): Nikola Vasilj lost the game against VfB Stuttgart with FC St. Pauli and also flew off the square with yellow-red due to complaining. What the goalkeeper had shown in the 88 minutes earlier was close to the world class. With several strong parades, he kept FC St. Pauli in the game, who had to outnumber more than half an hour. The highlight was the penalty held against Nick Woltemade. Thanks to Vasilj, St. Pauli sniffed the point win, but the goalkeeper’s heroic story had no happy ending.
Defense – Finn Jeltsch (VfB Stuttgart): The young defender made a very ripped off, good game and mostly kept the upper hand in the duels with Weißhaupt and Guilavogui. Jeltsch, who came to Stuttgart from the 1st FC Nürnberg last summer, has also been on the note internationally at large clubs, since the German U17 national man-like European and later also became world champion in 2023.

Defense – Amos Pieper (Werder Bremen): Werder’s central defender, often on the bench in the first half of the season, showed again why he has now become the secret defense chief of the Bremen. Pieper had the most ball contacts together with his adjoining man Marco Friedl and also had the best duel rate by far, including an outstanding tackling in the final phase. The fact that Werder ended up with the victory after a standard was not to blame.

Defense – John Tolkin (Holstein Kiel): In winter, the American from New York came to Holstein Kiel that he was supposed to fix the striking weakness of the Kiel “storks” on the left outer lane. After this matchday you can say: that worked – albeit late in the season. In Augsburg, the 22-year-old delivered a top-class game. Tactically enormously attentive, he closed his side, always started the offensive in between and was such a constant trouble.
Midfield – Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig): On the left wing, the busy Simons (11.3 kilometers mileage) not only provided operation, but also goals. With a fine external pruning pass through the entire left outer lane, he put on the 1-0 and then also prepared the 3: 3 in added time. The Dutchman was also not too good for working on the defensive (a total of 36 duels), cleared out several times in their own penalty area.
Midfeld – Leroy Sané (Bayern Munich): Sané has been one of the top performers at Bayern for weeks. At the draw in Leipzig, he ran the fewest kilometers of all FCB field players (10.2) – but most intensely. With his sprints (35) and his will (43 duels), Sané made two decisions for the change in halftime and was also a goal for the 3: 2 Bayern master scorer for almost twelve minutes. Then the equalization came.
Midfield – Pascal Groß (Borussia Dortmund): With a very clever campaign, Groß initiated the preliminary decision against Wolfsburg, left two opponents in the penalty area with a Schlenker and then put back on Guirassy. The busy international (11.1 km mileage) steered the fate of BVB from the central clever.

Midfield – Laszlo Benes (Union Berlin): Laszlo Benes was on the pitch for 42 seconds after his substitution. Then he got the equalization with a stroke of genius, a shot from a difficult angle and saved Union a point in a game that was already believed to be lost. This was also a personal satisfaction for Benes: the midfielder had hardly received a chance of playing. With his technically strong hit, he showed that he was also space for him in the running and fighting game of the Unioner.

Attack – Alexander Bernhardsson (Holstein Kiel): After 55 minutes of play, Bernhardsson was allowed to get off the square. It was 3-0 for Kiel, the Swede had scored two goals, and he was fouled before the third. The 26-year-old has been playing for Kiel since the winter of 2024 and wrote history in August when he scored the first Kiel Bundesligator in the 2: 3 against Hoffenheim. The two this weekend were of course more important.
Attack – Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund): There were only seven minutes between his substitution and his second goal. With a lot of momentum, courage and bite, Adeyemi ensured that Borussia Dortmund didn’t have to worry about the home win against Wolfsburg. And Adeyemi proved that he can be a factor in black and yellow in the fight for the premier class.

Attack – Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund): Dortmund’s goal machine is in full swing in the crucial season phase. In the past five league games, Guirassy has had six goal participations. Against Wolfsburg, the attacker converted two of his three shots on top and gave the direction.
