Europa League instead of 2nd Bundesliga: The Bosnian international Armin Gigovic (23) leaves Bundesliga relegated Holstein Kiel after just one year thanks to an exit clause and has signed a contract with the Swiss European Cup participant Young Boys Bern until 2029.

Both clubs reported this on Tuesday. No information was given about the transfer fee.

“Armin has drawn attention to his footballing qualities in the past Bundesliga season,” said sports manager Olaf Rebbe. “Due to the stipulated exit clause, his farewell is therefore not surprising for us and we have geared our squad planning.”

The twelve -time international came to the Kiel Fjord in the summer of 2024. In total, the midfielder played 33 competitive games for Kiel, taking six goals and two goals.
