Berlin police ban anti-Semitism demos

A total of three rallies planned to mark the 74th anniversary of the Palestinians’ expulsion from their homes between May 13 and 15 must not take place.

As a precaution, the Berlin police have banned several anti-Israel demonstrations that were announced in the capital until May 15.

“Based on the experience of the past few years and also the more recent past, further findings and the preparation of a prognosis, the examination of the assembly authority has shown that there is an immediate danger that the assemblies will lead to inflammatory, anti-Semitic exclamations, the glorification of violence, the conveying of a readiness to use violence and This could lead to intimidation and violence,” according to a police statement.
