720 hp, from 0 to 100 in just 2.9 seconds, 254,000 euros basic price. And now just a bright green heap of junk!

A Berlin pensioner (69) completely demolished his super sports car on the A9 motorway near Ingolstadt on Tuesday evening. The man was driving towards Munich in his Ferrari F8 Spider around 6 p.m., driving in the left overtaking lane.

According to traffic police, he lost control of the expensive speedster due to aquaplaning. “The car was thrown against the central barrier and then across the road. None of the occupants were injured.”

After the accident, the driver stood by the wreck of his Ferrari, phoning on the hard shoulder while emergency services blocked the scene of the accident and salvaged the demolished vehicle. The police are assuming an economic total loss of around 120,000 euros.
