62 percent of tourists in Berlin in 2022 came from Germany. But the domestic boom is likely to slow down this year.

Advertising and selling is part of everyday business for the tourism advertisers of “VisitBerlin”. In this respect, it is not surprising that their annual balance sheet for 2022 is largely positive. Tourism has recovered significantly.

But if you take a closer look at the numbers presented on Thursday, you start to ponder: 62 percent of the tourists came from Germany. Sure, Berlin is fragrant! However, entry bans and complicated test and vaccination rules in other countries are likely to have led to the capital hype among Germans.

Traveling abroad is easier this year, and the domestic boom is likely to slow down. It still needs a lot of convincing ideas from tourism advertisers!
