The Otterfing, located Outdoor equipment Bergzeitung GmbH, was also able to grow significantly in the end of February 2024/25.
The turnover amounted to 173 million euros and the previous year’s level exceeded it by 17 percent, the company belonging to the South Tyrolean Oberrauch group announced on Wednesday. The clear plus was therefore due to growth in the online business and in the stationary branches.
“It is particularly gratifying that we were also able to increase our profitability of more efficient processes in logistics and return management as well as through targeted customer loyalty measures,” emphasized Managing Director Martin Stolzenberger in a statement.
The outdoor outfitter creates new management positions
The company wants to continue its growth course in the current year. A sales increase of over ten percent is sought. “The focus is on the expansion of existing markets and target groups as well as the development of new countries,” said the retailer.
Personnel innovations should contribute to this. Christian Hofstetter, who had previously managed the shopping area, will take over the management of the newly created Commercial department as Chief Commercial Officers (CCO). Its goal is to “network marketing, countries and markets as well as sales more,” explained Bergzeit.
At the same time, the previous Head of Buying Christl Haigermoser was promoted to Chief Buying Officer and thus moved into the company’s “top management level”.
