ROLLING STONE discovery June 24, 2014
At the comeback concerts of the Böhse Onkelz at the Hockenheimring (June 20th and 21st), actor Ben Becker made a real embarrassment in his role as announcer for the band. As if he didn’t know that his microphone was switched on, Becker initially roared into the crowd and raged across the stage with his head very red. Like a foot soldier he shouted:
“They will curse me for standing here! I will say to them: Thank you for nothing! (…)”.
He then challenged his own will to persevere almost militarily:
“I’m standing here because I don’t feel like falling over. (…) What keeps me alive is the thought that I am not alone. Nothing is forever! (…).
Fly like angels!
He apparently threatens to tear down the stage: “Not one stone will be left unturned here!”
Then Ben Becker gives the “Unkelz” absolution – “They will fly like angels!”
